Machine Operator

About the Role:

Barnsley Recruitment Servicesare seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our client's busy manufacturing/production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a range of woodworking machinery, including beamsaws, edgebanders, spindle moulders, planers, and rip saws. A Forklift Licence would be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain woodworking machinery such as beamsaw, edgebander, spindle moulder, planer, and rip saw.

• Read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications to produce high-quality components.

• Conduct routine machine checks and basic maintenance to ensure efficient operation.

• Monitor output to ensure consistency with quality standards.

• Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

• Assist in material handling and movement of goods using a forklift (if licensed).

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating beamsaw, edgebander, spindle moulder, planer, and rip saw.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

• Forklift Licence preferred but not essential.

• Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
