A leading manufacturer of cosmetic and personal care products are currently looking to recruit a development chemist or senior chemist to their team based in West Yorkshire.
Bringing previous formulation experience from the industry, with a preference for hair care experience, the successful candidate will join a well established and respected company.
Key responsibilities:
- Development of new formulations and execution of lab work
- Technical expertise, responsibility and point of contact for all developments and post production ageing stability and changes to existing products
- Design of formulations according to the technical briefings from the Business Units
- Preparation of customer samples
- Supporting Head of Quality and Realisation in managing the workload
- Stakeholder management with relevant functions and departements
- Support for Scale-up and first production (Implementation)
- Solution-orientated support for QM, scale-up and production in quality cases
- Creating technical presentations to support sales. Supporting Sales in recipe, technology and trend issues
- Assuming responsibility for the semifinished product throughout the entire product development process up to initial production
- Carrying out risk assessments for formulations (legal aspects, stability, expected results in consumer tests etc...) and representing decisions made independently on this basis
Skills, experience and qualifications:
- BSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or related subject
- Previous cosmetic/personal care formulation experience
- Ideally some experience within hair care formulations
- Ability to work safely unsupervised and ensure role priorities are met
- Good organisational skills
- Good interpersonal skills
