  • Pay Rate: 31650 - 49084 (+9782) MPS/UPS + TLR 1

Essential Requirements

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Demonstrate substantial leadership experience within a secondary school setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Knowledge of the latest developments in English teaching and learning.
  • Confidence in using educational technology to enhance learning.
  • Experience delivering whole-school literacy initiatives.
  • The ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

  • Be an outstanding practitioner with a deep understanding of English curriculum

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an ambitious English curriculum that inspires students of all abilities.
  • Lead the English department to deliver consistently high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Establish clear strategies to improve student outcomes in English at KS3 and KS4.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching practices to ensure excellent standards.
  • Support and mentor staff within the English faculty to improve their professional practice.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and creativity.
  • Provide clear and supportive feedback to staff to foster development.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of student data to inform teaching strategies.
  • Organise and oversee external assessments and examinations in English.
  • Foster strong relationships with external agencies and partners to enhance learning opportunities.
