Infrastructure Engineer -3 months contract - 350 - 400 a day outside ir35 - Bradford & Leeds
Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a background in Data Centre moves? Our client is seeking a skilled professional to assist with a critical Data Centre move and office consolidation based across Datacentre sites in Bradford and Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Centre Move: Assist in the relocation of old VxRail clusters to a colocation site. Responsibilities include racking, cabling, and configuring with VMware to build/clone production servers.
Server Management: Obtain temporary licenses from Dell for VxRail and VMware for vSAN and ESXi as needed. Support testing activities by managing server uptime.
Networking: Act as onsite network smart hands, installing new core switches, moving and setting up DMZ switches, and working with network teams to ensure proper VLAN placement and firewall connections.
Infrastructure Support: Provision infrastructure servers for services like AD, DHCP, DNS, NTP using a spare Dell Server. Install and license VMware, build or migrate Microsoft VMs, and implement server clusters for resiliency.
Additional Activities: Conduct auditing, label equipment for moving, and prepare the colocation center for incoming equipment.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency in VMware.
- Strong background in Windows Server administration.
- Comprehensive networking experience.
- Previous Data Centre Move Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage and execute data centre relocations successfully.
