Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Bradford 50-60k + dependent on experience
An exciting, autonomous role for a Mechanical Design Engineer who has confident experience in leading complex design projects to take on a lead role for a special-purpose machinery manufacturer in the Bradford area
Your role as the Mechanical Design Engineer will include:
- Producing designs for automated special-purpose machinery
- Producing drawings for manufacture in SolidWorks
- Working on NPD projects for new machinery and ensuring design feasibility
- Build and test of prototypes
- Undertaking mechanical and material calculations
- Producing effective quotations and BOM's to encompass costs of labour, material,
- Modification and improvement of existing products
As the Mechanical Design / Lead Engineer you will:
- Hold a relevant mechanical engineering degree
- Have previous experience in sheet metal and bespoke machinery design
- Have confident knowledge of stainless Steel fabrication, motor drives, inverters, and conveying systems
- Have confident experience of design for manufacture, prototype, and test
- SolidWorks experience is essential
- Be confident in managing your own projects from beginning to end and able to support junior engineers
- Have a confident appreciation of electrical components and wiring
- be able to communicate with customers effectively
