Job Overview
Russell Taylor are seeking additional class 1 night drivers for a client based in Manchester. This is a trunk role starting around 1730 on an evening Monday to Friday.
The pay for this role is £16.00 per hr.
Responsibilities
- Operate a flatbed lorry for the safe transport of goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road.
- Report any accidents or incidents immediately to management.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) is essential.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
