We are currently seeking full-time SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with Key Stage 3 and 4 students in the BD5 area of Bradford. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in young lives, supporting students with complex needs from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH and additional learning needs, ensuring their educational and emotional development.
  • Assist students 1:1 or in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and develop social skills.
  • Help manage behaviour, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to create a safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Support students in both academic tasks and personal development, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
  • Promote an inclusive atmosphere where every student is respected and encouraged to achieve.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or other behavioural challenges.
  • A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
  • The ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
