The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students to help them overcome barriers to learning, providing both academic and personal support tailored to their individual needs. You'll become a vital part of the school's efforts to enhance educational outcomes for SEND students, helping to cultivate their independence, confidence, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, adapting resources and learning activities to meet diverse learning needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and self-confidence
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SEND staff to support individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor students' progress
  • Assist with the personal care needs of students, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times
  • Support students' social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour and relationships
