MERJE are delighted to be partnered with a Retail Bank in their search for a talented Financial Analyst (Strategic Analysis)

Location: Bradford, Chatham or Petersfield. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.  

Your New Role:

As a Financial Analyst you'll Support the quarterly financial forecasts and the annual 5-year budget plan for the Bank . Provide financial data, analysis and insight and ensuring all budgets and plans are produced in a timely manner and accuracy required for submission to executive committees and the Board of directors.

As a Financial Analyst, you will:  

      Support the financial forecast processes through the consolidation of all budget inputs

Deliver timely and accurate budget and forecast information

Liaise with SP&A product teams, Cost team, and Treasury to ensure budget inputs are on time, accurate and at the correct level of granularity

Review of forecast inputs and appropriate challenge of assumptions

Supporting the production of the forecast paper and supporting presentation to the Group Executive Committee and Group Board for review and approval by providing insight & analysis of the budget as required

Developing, testing and documenting Budget process

Supporting the Financial Reporting Teams through the management reporting and statutory reporting processes, by performing variance analysis Actuals vs. Budget on a monthly basis and feedback into the budget process were appropriate, and provide any requested analysis

Drive improvements into the financial planning processes and forecasting tools

Support the head of Investor Relations in preparing external market updates, and preparing and analysing competitor analysis

What We're Looking For:  

      Experience of financial reporting and planning systems. Knowledge of Anaplan would be beneficial

Knowledge within the Financial Services or Banking sector would be beneficial

Ability to explain complex commercial and financial issues to others

Ability to present financial plans and complex data analysis in simplified forms to facilitate review, challenge and to enable senior management decision making

Commercial awareness - Ability to form views and judgments about financial plans. Able to challenge plans constructively and to propose alternative recommendations

Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA

Advanced PC literacy in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

The interview process:   

    30-minute call with Talent Acquisition.  
    Up to 1 hour Teams interview with the hiring team.  
     Final interview
