Our client are a privately owned, dynamic, and forward-thinking company with over 10 years of experience, who provide UK, European, and Worldwide shipping services via Road, Sea, and Air.
Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced individual to collaborate with Managing Director and drive the company forward through new sales and innovative working practices. This role involves supporting the Managing Director and a small team in Sales & Operations.
Main Responsibilities:- Proactively communicate to ensure work is carried out effectively.
- Maximize profitability of each consignment/job by negotiating with new clients and suppliers.
- Operate the in-house software system, raising orders, and processing necessary administration.
- Extensive experience in European Trailer freight, UK Road, and Worldwide shipping across all modes of transport.
- Confident personality with a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Professional, positive, and helpful demeanor towards colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate effectively and identify opportunities to increase turnover and profit.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex logistical issues concisely.
- Proficient in IT and familiar with relevant software systems.
- Ambitious and driven, with a strong desire to succeed.
- Previous experience working for a transport/logistics company.
- Presentable, energetic, and enthusiastic.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding and familiarity with freight suppliers.
