Import Service Team Operator

Our client is actively recruiting for an experienced Import Administrator to join a growing thriving team

What You Can Expect:

  • This role sits within the UK Import Service Team and is responsible for the administration and management of import clearances for shipments arriving into the UK European Road Freight network.
  • As the Import Service Team co-ordinates you will assist with all aspects of the customs clearance and recovery of any taxes paid with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with post-clearance activities and invoicing associated with the road business' smart-border clearance and customs brokerage solutions
  • This is an invoicing and admin role
  • Your role will primarily involve, but is not limited to:
  • Issuing of invoices and contacting associated parties to ensure the recovery of customs debt and prompt payment .
  • Controlling the release of shipments held for pending payments and reviewing customs documents issued to ensure correct clearances and debts are incurred.
  • You will be required to communicate with the credit control department to reconcile payments, respond to invoice queries with external stakeholders via telephone and email.
  • Periodically you will be required to cross train and or cover the tasks of other team members which includes contacting UK importing companies via email or phone call to obtain information and data required to complete UK import clearance.
  • Complete local system database checks to complete the information and then passing all details to the Customs division through an internal IT Ticket system.
  • Preforming administration tasks associated with customs procedures and tax recovery.

  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to handle customer queries speedily and efficiently
  • Hours 09.00 - 1730 hrs Monday to Friday, competitive salary based on experience.
