Interim NRSWA Inspector
Location: West Yorkshire - 75% Site-Based
Duration: Interim/ongoing
Pay Rate: Circa 30 per hour

Spencer Clarke Group are currently seeking an experienced NRSWA Inspector to join our local authority client in West Yorkshire on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring highway works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct highway inspections under the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), including inspection of works, reinstatements, and ironwork

Ensure compliance with signing, lighting and guarding requirements, in line with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and Safety at Street Works and Road Works code of practice

Verify that reinstatement works comply with the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways

Record and maintain accurate inspection data for NRSWA inspections, Section 74, FPNs, and permits for skips, scaffolding, and hoardings

Undertake permit compliance checks and support the coordination of works and temporary obstructions on the highway

Respond to enquiries and service requests, providing information and advice to stakeholders

Essential Requirements

Full NRSWA Supervisor Accreditation

Full and valid UK driving licence

Proven experience in a similar highways inspection or street works role

Strong understanding of relevant codes of practice and legislative requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and the public
