Interim NRSWA Inspector
Location: West Yorkshire - 75% Site-Based
Duration: Interim/ongoing
Pay Rate: Circa 30 per hour

Spencer Clarke Group are currently seeking an experienced NRSWA Inspector to join our local authority client in West Yorkshire on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring highway works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct highway inspections under the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), including inspection of works, reinstatements, and ironwork
  • Ensure compliance with signing, lighting and guarding requirements, in line with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and Safety at Street Works and Road Works code of practice
  • Verify that reinstatement works comply with the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection data for NRSWA inspections, Section 74, FPNs, and permits for skips, scaffolding, and hoardings
  • Undertake permit compliance checks and support the coordination of works and temporary obstructions on the highway
  • Respond to enquiries and service requests, providing information and advice to stakeholders

Essential Requirements

  • Full NRSWA Supervisor Accreditation
  • Full and valid UK driving licence
  • Proven experience in a similar highways inspection or street works role
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes of practice and legislative requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and the public
