Our client is seeking a passionate and proactive Health and Safety Assistant to support their HSQE Manager with all aspects of health safety and environmental compliance.

On top of earning up to £30k per annum, you will benefit from a dedicated wellbeing day and Christmas and summer functions!

Health and Safety AssistantBased in Bradford with some site travel

  • Full time, permanent (36.75 hours per week)
  • £28,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience

About the Role:

As a Health, Safety & Environment Assistant, you will be an integral part of the HSQE team. You’ll assist the HSQE Manager with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring sites are safe and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the HSQE Manager with administrative duties to ensure compliance
  • Assist the H&S team with monitoring and auditing H&S procedures
  • Help ensure our company sites are safe environments to work
  • Support in the preparation of risk assessments
  • Assist in maintaining ISO 14001, 9001, and 18001 management systems
  • Develop and maintain an effective records management system
  • Travel occasionally throughout the UK, with potential overnight stays
  • Maintain facilities and identify training needs

Qualifications / Knowledge Required:

  • Similar experience in construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environments
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety issues and legislation
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certificate
  • Good knowledge of HSQE policies and procedures

Preferred but not essential:

  • IEMA/SEATS certificate
  • CSCS card
  • Training qualification
  • Internal auditor qualification
  • Fire warden and first aider qualifications
