Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a household name who are currently looking to recruit a HSE Manager to drive strategy across the business. The HSE Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities across manufacturing, distribution and retail. 

This key role will ensure legal compliance for all HSE processes and contribute to developing and maintaining a strong HSE culture within the organization. As a strategic advisor and technical expert, you will work with management to drive continuous improvement in HSE standards, policies, and procedures. This role will offer full flexibility and will be hybrid. 

Key Responsibilities:
    • Advise senior management on the prevention of accidents, environmental incidents, and practical implementation of company HSE policies.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation and best practices across all locations.
    • Lead the development and review of safe operational risk assessments and procedures.
    •  Review and document all HSE processes to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
    • Manage the company’s health surveillance, drugs and alcohol testing programs, and training initiatives.
    • Monitor and maintain systems for incident reporting, audits, and risk assessments.
    • Coordinate and implement internal audits and follow up on corrective actions.
    • Implement and monitor energy conservation strategies, driving annual reductions in energy consumption.
    • Advise on environmental best practices and support compliance with environmental regulations.
    • Deliver HSE awareness training to functional teams to ensure all employees are fully equipped with the knowledge to adhere to HSE standards.
    • Coach, mentor, and inspire teams to adopt a proactive HSE approach.
    • Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and environmental audits
    • Analyse incident and environmental data to identify trends, root causes, and develop practical solutions to drive improvement.
    • Collaborate with operational teams and management to develop and implement HSE improvement strategies.
    • Liaise with government departments and external parties on HSE matters, as required.
    • Prepare and present HSE reports and data analysis to senior management, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
    • Support the development and implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other related standards across the business.
Key Requirements:
    • Proven experience in a similar HSE role, managing HSE functions across multi-site environments, preferably within warehousing, logistics, and transport sectors.
    • NEBOSH Diploma or working towards
    • Experience of remote working arrangements or managing HSE across multiple locations would be advantageous.
    • In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation (health, safety, and environmental).
    • Strong technical knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).
    • Experience with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and internal auditing.
Working Environment:
  • Based at Head Office in Bradford with travel as required.
