Are you a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant with experience with SEND?

We are supporting a school inBradford who are looking for an experienced SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with an EHCP (Educational Healthcare Plan) on a 1:1 basis. You should be flexible and able to adapt to support learners with wider needs.

The school are looking for an individual who is resilient, compassionate and who can display a positive attitude.

As a SEND TA, youwill provide essential support to children who have special educational needs. Your role will be to ensure that all children have equal access to learning opportunities and contribute positively to all areas of education and learning. This includes supporting children with their social and emotional skills, making friends, managing friendships and the boundaries around these relationships.

Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide small group or 1:1 support to children with special educational needs
  • Assist students with academic tasks, helping to reinforce learning objectives and adapt materials to suit individual learning styles. This may involve scaffolding activities to meet their level of need
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to parents and teachers
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENCOto implement individual education plans
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected
  • Encourage the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and self-esteem, this may include supporting children with managing and creating friendships as well as creating boundaries

For this role, you will also need:

  • Qualifications relating to the role
  • GCSE grade Maths, English and Science
  • An enhanced DBS that is registered to the update service
