Dovetail and Slate is working with an outstanding college to recruit two Mechanical Engineering Tutor/Assessors to support Level 3 apprentices. If you're passionate about sharing your skills and developing the next generation of engineers, this is the opportunity for you.



What You'll Be Doing:

* Teach two days per week in the classroom, delivering practical and engaging lessons
* Assess apprentices in the workplace two days per week
* Use the fifth day for admin, planning, meetings, and learner support
* Inspire learners by connecting theory to real-world mechanical engineering practice
* Support learners toward successful EPA and long-term career development



What We're Looking For:

* A teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, etc.)
* An assessing qualification (A1, TAQA, or willingness to train with support)
* Apprentice-trained with at least 6 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering
* Classroom teaching experience, ideally in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience delivering some of the following is desirable:
- Conventional Turning & Milling
- Hand Fitting
- Basic CNC Turning & Milling
- CAD, CAM, 3D Printing
- 6 Axis Robotics
- Health & Safety, Communications, Efficiency
- Lean Manufacturing / BIT
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics
- Basic Electrical Installation for Maintenance Engineers
- Technical Drawing (manual)
- Mechanical & Electrical Principles
- Measurement & Inspection
