Are you a dedicated educator with experience with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs looking to make a difference to the lives of learners?

At Best In Class, we are currently working with a Primary school in North Bradford who are on the hunt for an SEMH Support Assistant to support children who access the curriculum differently due to a background of care, trauma or behavioural challenges.

Being an SEMH TA can be a challenging role but also extremely rewarding! As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you can be confident in knowing that each day, you have made a difference to the inclusivity of a childs education.

This role is to begin after October Half term and there may be the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff!

In your role, your responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Scaffolding activities to meet the needs of learners
  • Working 1:1 and building up a close relationship with children
  • Following all safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Strong behaviour management and high expectations for behaviour
  • Liasing with colleagues and sometimes parents about progress
  • Supporting children with social and emotional development including managing friendships

To be successful see below:

Desired:

  • L2 or above TA Qualification
  • Education based degree or qualification

Essential:

  • Grade A-C in English & Maths
  • Experience with children that have diverse needs
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Adaptability
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Available full time
