My client, a modern and ambitious law firm based in central Bradford is currently seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join their busy team. You will be managing a caseload of Employer Liability and Public Liability Claims from instruction to completion. The successful applicant will have experience of working withing Personal Injury or RTA law, and have an interest in working in this area of law.

Duties will include:

Conduct defence of EL/PL claims for Personal Injury from the beginning of the claim up to but not including litigation.

Ability to use the MOJ EL/PL Portal.

Deal with opponents, experts, statutory bodies and client by e-mail, telephone and in writing.

Negotiate on issues of liability and quantum.

Pursue recovery of client’s losses, where appropriate, from third parties.

Maintain accurate financial / reserve / risk management information on all claims.

Comply with internal, client and procedural protocols.

Ensure that personal objectives are reviewed and met.

Develop a good relationship with existing and potential clients ensuring that a high standard of client care in exercised at all times.

Provide good customer service to litigants in person.

Ensure that relevant training is carried out and keep up to date with relevant legislation and practice.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SRA/Law Society Regulations.

Carry out duties and responsibilities with due regard to the firm’s Equality & Diversity Policy.
