We are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our client's busy team, focusing on defending pre-litigation personal injury claims. This role is ideal for someone with over 5 years of experience in an EL/PL claims handling role, preferably with retail claims experience. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, and a methodological approach to work.

- Handle complex and high-value claims (excluding catastrophic claims).
- Utilise the MOJ EL/PL Portal effectively.
- Communicate with opponents, experts, statutory bodies, and clients via email, telephone, and in writing.
- Negotiate issues of liability and quantum.
- Pursue the recovery of client’s losses from third parties, where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate financial, reserve, and risk management information on all claims.
- Comply with internal, client, and procedural protocols.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring high standards of client care at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to litigants in person.
- Stay updated with relevant legislation and practice, and ensure compliance with SRA/Law Society Regulations.
- Carry out duties with due regard to the firm’s Equality & Diversity Policy.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an EL/PL claims handling role.
- Experience in handling retail claims is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and practice.
