Are you passionate about food and supporting the development of young children? We are looking for a reliable and experienced Nursery Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team as Bank Staff!

About the Role:

As a Nursery Cook/Kitchen Assistant (Bank Staff), you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of healthy, nutritious meals for children aged 6 months- 5 You will support our kitchen team in delivering a high standard of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in accordance with regulations.

This role is perfect for someone with flexibility, as shifts will be scheduled as needed. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our children while working in a supportive and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for children.
  • Ensure that meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Support with stock management, including ordering and storing food.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and health & safety procedures.
  • Assist in the washing up and cleaning of kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  • Support in the smooth running of the kitchen when required.
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a nursery or childcare setting.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of dietary needs and food allergies.
  • A passion for cooking and providing nutritious meals.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • A friendly and approachable personality.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and on short notice.
