Maintenance Engineer

Our client are a leading supplier of the full range of remote control and plug-in refrigerated cabinets to the retail, food and beverage and hotel, restaurant, and catering sectors. An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer based at the Bradford site. The role of a Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Facilities Manager, will cover both preventative & reactive maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in a production-based environment and hold a relevant qualification.

Main Responsibilities

The role will support the business needs for a wide variety of reactive, planned preventative, and facility maintenance.

Mechanical & control system reactive maintenance to production machinery.

First response to plumbing, heating & building fabric maintenance.

Installation of small works projects including 6S and production improvements

Support during new capital installations.

Liaise with & assist external contractors where required.

Compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards and promote good health, safety, and environmental practices.

Housekeeping maintained to 6's standards.

Any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.

Experience and Key Skills

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Level 3 NVQ or Higher in Mechanical/Maintenance Engineering/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Electrical Fault finding experience on large control cabinets
  • Able to understand engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Hands-on, practical approach
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety principles and practices
  • Standard IT skills (Excel, Word)
  • Communication skills (especially fact-finding, giving instructions or explanations)
  • A Valid Driving license.
  • 3a and 3b MEWP license, counterbalance FLT license required. (training provided).
