Senior Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)


Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time


Location: Bradford


Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 p.a. depending on experience. 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays


As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the problem-solving, diagnostic, and operational capabilities of the Maintenance team within a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring all engineering functions, ensuring their efficiency.


Your role includes managing various engineering projects, processes, and timelines, making necessary adjustments to ensure their successful completion. Additionally, you will uphold and enforce health, safety, quality, and environmental policies within the engineering team.


Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead engineer and technical expert
  • Develop comprehensive engineering plans, standard operating procedures, and staff guidelines
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, implementing effective solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and overseeing engineering personnel
  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental regulations and company policies
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians to ensure top performance and adherence to safety protocols
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement utilising lean methodologies

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in an electrical engineering role is essential
  • Preferred qualifications include HNC, NVQ, or equivalent in engineering
  • Experience in team leadership is highly desirable
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • 18th Edition certification
  • Experience with 3-phase electrical systems
  • Familiarity with Electrical Control Systems
  • PLC expertise is a plus
