A very exciting opportunity has arisen with a food manufacturer for an engineering manager. This role will be to drive the performance of the engineering department to maximise production output and minimize overall business costs, whilst maintaining and improving legislative compliance, quality / food safety standards, health and safety standards, HR standards and business sustainability.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Develop and implement the group engineering and maintenance strategy,
  • Implement and maintain reactive maintenance procedures that prioritise internal customer service and the minimising of equipment downtime.
  • Implement and maintain a planned maintenance system to reduce unplanned downtime, including spares management and external servicing.
  • Monitor departmental performance and take action to ensure targets are met.
  • Lead on investment projects and automation opportunities.
  • Ensure colleagues (and new starters) are given the training, support and development they need to succeed in their role.
  • Member of H&S committee
  • Implement and maintain company BRCGS, HACCP and other relevant procedures.
  • Carry out Internal Systems Audits (ISAs) and other internal audits.

Personal Profile.

  • Leadership skills and abilities
  • Confident with decision making abilities.
  • Food experience is a MUST
  • Organised and diligent
  • Electrical Biased - Must have 18th Edition
  • Supervisor Experience preferable
  • NEBOSH Certified
  • Exposure to automated environments
