Basic Overview:
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the production of detailed design information on a range of product types, as part of our second line engineering process. You will form a key member of the design team provide support to both pre- and post-sales functions, and coordinating the workload of other design engineers.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or be directly involved in [potentially multiple] R&D projects related to Air Handling equipment and solutions, including but not limited to cost engineering, core functionality development, evolutionary upgrades, framing system improvements, and certification programmes e.g. Eurovent certification.
- Taking ownership in developing designs to an agreed specification, including the key measures of meeting deadlines, meeting design criteria, liaising with suppliers.
- Developing designs for projects from initial enquiry, producing costings and producing BOMs (Bill of Materials). Final design sign off of above information required prior to handover to the project team.
- Working on varied types of drawings from single line design concepts to intricate detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Provide technical support to the pre-sales team, including site visits and client meetings.
- Overseeing the day-to-day work completed by the team including specifications, designs and BOMs.
- Representing the team providing updates in project progress, new technologies, new product development in addition to technical and risk management implications
- Keeping drawing schedules up to date for issued and received drawings.
- Presenting to other teams and providing updates on new products to increase the knowledge base of peers, including external CPDs.
- Maintaining a high level of quality in accordance with Company policies.
- Providing technical support and training to internal and external customers.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Experience in design of air handling units.
- Strong two-way communication skills and approachable.
- Working to ISO9001 quality procedures and CDM regulations.
- Experience of fault finding, diagnosing issues with air handling units
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills plus high quality standards of written work and drawings.
