Mechanical Design Engineer Role Overview- Mechanical Design Engineer- Competitive Package & Progression £40k +  basic (dependant on experience)- Specialist, bespoke design engineering workThis role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team focused on the integration of cutting-edge machinery and solutions. The position involves working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions tailored to customer requirements, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and continuous development.Job Purpose & Duties

  • Collaborate internally to design and integrate machine and solutions aligned with customer specifications.
  • Create 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and generate accurate BOMs to support manufacturing processes.
  • Develop innovative solutions working closely with experienced professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and CE requirements in machine and specialist designs.
  • Provide technical support across manufacturing, assembly, sales, and documentation teams.
  • Contribute to prototype testing, performance evaluations, and the continuous improvement of existing systems.
  • Resolve technical issues, manage engineering change requests, and support customer complaints or manufacturing challenges.
  • Support the Sales team with specification reviews and risk identification for machine performance.
  • Actively participate in pre-build and post-build activities, ensuring alignment across departments for successful project delivery.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
  • Qualifications: Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer with HNC/Degree-level qualification.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Siemens NX CAD for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, & or other software (Solidworks etc.)
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Mechanical Engineering role, including BOM creation, compliance with regulatory standards, and working with complex machinery
  • Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles
  • Soft Skills: Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
  • Other Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
