Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant/Leaning Assistant to join a Primary School based in Bradford. This is a temporary ongoing contract for 3 months to begin with, working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate access to the curriculum and school environment for children with vision impairment.
  • Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and inclusion in all activities.
  • Develop and implement individual programmes of work, including braille and habilitation programmes.
  • Prepare and maintain specialist equipment, curriculum resources, and ICT tools.
  • Provide regular feedback to teachers on pupil progress and assist in lesson planning.
  • Promote positive behavior, encourage pupil independence, and assist with daily living skills.

Requirements:

  • NVQ2 or higher, with GCSEs (A*-C) in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of braille, tactile learning methods, and the impact of vision impairment on learning.
  • Experience working with children with vision impairment, including delivering tailored support.
