Responsibilities of the Process Safety Engineer

  • Oversee and assess PS performance by conducting audits, generating reports, and conducting investigations.
  • Administer an Assessment Programme by employing Human Factors studies.
  • Counsel site Asset Management on Safety Critical Equipment.
  • Evaluate upper tier COMAH safety reports, demonstrate knowledge of Major Accident Hazards, and offer guidance to ensure site compliance with COMAH regulations.
  • Provide specialised PS support and advice to facilitate regulatory inspections, managing the relationship with the H&S Executive in relation to COMAH.
  • Support the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for plant areas by facilitating hazard studies and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).

To be successful in this position as a Process Safety Engineer applicants will require experience working for a minimum of 6+ years within the Oil & Gas Industry on Upper Tier Comah Regulated sites and hold a BEng in Chemical with a strong knowledge of UK regulations such as COMAH, BS EN 61511, (phone number removed).
