Here at Hays, I am recruiting for an Associate Procurement Manager to join a public sector organisation based in Bradford on a permanent basis, this is an exciting opportunity to join a well established procurement team. This role offers great flexible working, with hybrid working available. The role is paying up to £44,000 per year along with some brilliant public sector benefits. You will be responsible for the attainment of value for money on a diverse portfolio of strategic tenders, contract management and procurement related projects across a range of categories. The right candidate will be able to provide expert knowledge on procurement related policies, financial regulations and public procurement directives. Responsible for driving greater vale for money from a proactive, engaging and innovative approach to procurement. Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Manage effective relationships with senior managers, internal stakeholders and key suppliers to meet customer needs.
  • Manage tender workplace from identification of need through to contract aware, to include commercial procurement techniques and procedures in the delivery of best value procurement solutions.
  • Ensure the tender process complies with good purchasing practice.
  • Motivate and influence stakeholders at all levels, working with contract owners to manage suppliers' performance and deliver agreed goals and objectives.
  • Promote corporate contracts and framework agreements that represent best value, reducing off-contract spend to a minimum where appropriate.

Experience and qualifications required for this role:

  • Proven experience of leading procurement projects in a large and complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of contract law and ability to manage contractual matters.
  • Experience tendering within a cross functional team.
  • Experience of a wide range of procurement quote and tendering solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage a suite of contracts and tenders using own initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • CIPS Level 4
