Buyer

Our client is a main contractor and manufacturer who work in the modular house building sector. They have their head office in Bradford where they have offices and manufacturing workshop. The company have a long and successful history in the construction sector. In the past they have worked on interior fit out and building projects and they done a lot of work in the shopfitting sector. They have also done previous modular building projects and they are growing this division. They are now recruiting a Buyer to work in their modular house building division.

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong reputation. Rporting to the Construction Director and working closely with the commercial team. You’ll be managing the company's supply of products and services. The Buyers responsibilities include finding cost-effective deals and suppliers. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, enthusiastic, and motivated.

• Responsible for the Procurement of materials to service project requirements, demonstrating value for money through competitive tendering and pricing analysis to minimise risk and maximise commercial opportunity
• Identifying suppliers and sub-contractors, obtaining quotations and agreeing delivery timescales
• Liaising effectively with the site management team and suppliers & sub-contractors to manage the flow of labour & materials appropriately
• Liaising closely with the commercial team at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
• Approval of purchase invoices for payment

Requirements:

• Previous buying in a similar role gained within the construction sector
• Previous experience in the modular building or housing sector
• Procurement qualification desirable but not essential
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent time keeping and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines
• Ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive, have good organisational skills and have a high attention to detail
