  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students, catering to a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Promote a love of languages and an understanding of French culture through innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Monitor, assess and report on student progress, providing targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and wider departmental initiatives.
  • Support the school's ethos and values, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in French or a related subject.
  • A strong understanding of the French curriculum and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A commitment to raising standards and fostering a love for languages in young people.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience teaching another modern foreign language (e.g. Spanish or German).
  • Knowledge of strategies to engage and challenge learners of all abilities.
  • A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or trips abroad.
