Apprentice Engineer
Hourly Rate: £6 - £13 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Bradford

Salary & Benefits:

  • Hourly rate between £6 - £13, based on experience

Working Hours:

  • Standard working hours to begin with
  • After a training period, shift pattern will align with the multi-skilled engineer role:
    • Monday to Friday
    • Early Shift: 05:45 am - 14:15 pm
    • Late Shift: 13:45 pm - 22:15 pm
    • Rotating weekly with rare weekend work

Role Overview:
As an Apprentice Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to learn about the installation, maintenance, and repair of packaging machinery. This role is ideal for someone who has recently completed their apprenticeship or HNC, Level 3, or similar qualifications and is passionate about honing their craft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of packaging equipment under supervision.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Support the installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Help with routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Develop an understanding of electrical diagrams and mechanical systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and best practices in the workplace.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ideally, you will already be an apprentice, recently qualified, or have completed HNC, Level 3, or similar qualifications.
  • A keen interest in engineering and a desire to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles is a plus.
