- Developing and implementing effective transport plans.
- Managing logistics to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitoring transport costs and efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with transport laws and regulations.
- Managing relationships with transport service providers.
- Deal with breakdowns, traffic delays and any accidents which may impact previously planned routes.
- Analysing transport data to improve routes and efficiency.
- Problem-solving for any issues or delays in transportation.
Profile
A successful Senior Transport Planner should have:
- Experience in a transport planning or logistics role within the transport & distribution industry.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in using logistic software.
- A strong understanding of transport regulations and laws.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and service providers.
