Accelerate Teaching is excited to present an opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Bradford, starting in September 2024. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Working closely with teachers and other staff, your focus will be on helping students overcome barriers to learning and realise their full potential. Your commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment will be key to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a productive learning environment.
  • Help prepare and adapt resources for lessons to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records to inform future support strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging confidence, independence, and resilience in their learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
  • Demonstrate a passion for supporting young people and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Hold a relevant qualification or demonstrate equivalent experience in supporting students with SEND.
