Learning Support Assistant:

Overview:
NextGen are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Associate to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing assistance and guidance to children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to communicate effectively and engage with children in a nurturing environment. This position is suited for individuals who are passionate about education and child development, especially in supporting toddlers and children with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to children, focusing on those with special educational needs, including autism.
  • Communicate effectively with children to facilitate learning and development.
  • Educate and assist children in daily activities, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) as directed by educational professionals.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create an inclusive atmosphere that supports all children's needs.
  • Observe and document children's progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or autism, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and colleagues.
  • A background in education or child development is advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards children's individual needs.
