We are in search of a Learning Support Assistant eager to explore thrilling prospects. At Randstad, we are representing a mainstream primary school in the Bradford area. This is a full-time role with working hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent qualification)
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting (preferably in a primary or secondary school)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, learning difficulties, or behavioural needs
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and ability to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to suit different learning styles
  • Basic understanding of literacy and numeracy interventions to support student progress
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with children
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about inclusive education and helping students succeed
  • Resilient, with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
  • A team player who can work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
  • Training in Read Write Inc., Phonics, or other literacy interventions (desirable)
  • Experience using EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) to support SEN students (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication tools for students with additional needs (desirable)
  • Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions (No Sponsorship).
  • Possess an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get one through Randstad.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's well-being

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with additional learning needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with SENCOs and teachers to implement individual learning plans
  • Encourage students' by building confidence and independence in their learning
