Education Support Worker in English with Driving

£21,322/£13.24 - £23,822/£14.79 per hour for 230 Days+ Private Medical

This is a Term-time Contract in Bradford

Pipeline Productions is a dedicated alternative provision for young people aged 11 - 16 who, for many reasons, have become disengaged from mainstream education. We specialise in Arts and Sports and are now looking to appoint an Education Support Worker who is both kind and professional to our dedicated and growing team.

Main Duties

  • Supporting the pupils in their education as directed by the English Delivery Lead
  • Complying with all safeguarding protocols
  • Providing pastoral care and support to pupils
  • Driving the mini-bus between Bradford and Keighley

Safeguarding and the wellbeing of our pupils is of the utmost priority. The successful candidate must actively and effectively safeguard all of our pupils to keep them safe from harm. 

The successful candidate will also supervise pupils whilst they are on break and lunch, make sure that pupils are safeguarded in these times and report any concerns to the DSL on site. There will be other duties included. 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • GCSE C or above in Maths and English or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years driving experience in a manual car
  • Driving licence with maximum of 3 penalty points
  • Not prohibited from working with vulnerable groups (will pass a DBS check)
  • A natural ability to engage and motivate young people with multiple and complex needs

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • A knowledge of the many barriers to learning that affect disengaged and disaffected young people
  • A working knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices in an education setting
  • A knowledge of the risks that many disengaged and disaffected young people experience, including CSE and CCE
  • A knowledge of the risks to young people online and of methods of keeping them safe
  • A proven track record of working with young people, preferably in an education or alternative provision capacity with experience of working with young people in a teaching/tutoring capacity
  • Autism Awareness training
  • First Aid training
