We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safeguarding Social Worker to join a school-based team in Bradford. This full-time permanent role offers the chance to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive outcomes of children and young people.

Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body.
  • Extensive experience in safeguarding roles, including managing complaints and allegations.
  • In-depth knowledge of childcare legislation, regulatory standards, and inspection frameworks.
  • Proven ability to mentor, support, and challenge colleagues to achieve safeguarding excellence.
  • Commitment to developing and maintaining Good/Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently review safeguarding arrangements to ensure children and young people receive the highest standards of care.
  • Investigate complaints and allegations across residential, fostering, and education services.
  • Review and improve risk management plans while mentoring and supporting colleagues.
  • Provide safeguarding training and workshops to promote awareness and best practices.
  • Drive a safeguarding culture by embedding processes that exceed regulatory standards and deliver measurable outcomes for children.
  • Work in partnership with operational teams to minimise risk and ensure regular safeguarding reviews.
  • Support the continuous improvement of safeguarding practice through robust quality assurance and compliance processes.
  • Promote learning and improvement by contributing to strategic planning and responding to lessons learned.
