Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our Children in Care team. This role offers an opportunity to work with children and young people who are in care, providing support and guidance to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people in care, identifying their needs and developing tailored care plans.
  • Work closely with foster carers and adoptive parents to ensure high-quality care for children.
  • Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in education, health, and social development.
  • Liaise with a range of professionals, including health visitors, teachers, and youth workers, to coordinate support services.
  • Conduct regular reviews of care plans to ensure they meet the evolving needs of children and young people.
  • Promote the rights and well-being of children and young people in care.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Significant experience in working with children in care
  • Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex caseloads
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
