Looking for your next step as a Senior Developer with strong API expertise? This well-established organisation is investing heavily in tech and needs a confident engineer to help lead the way with their cloud-first, microservices-based systems.
You'll be involved in shaping development standards, mentoring others, supporting third-line issues, and leading the design of scalable, secure APIs using .NET and Azure.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading API development and integration work in a microservices environment
- Designing and delivering .NET-based services that are reliable, secure, and scalable
- Setting and maintaining development standards across the team
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and troubleshoot issues
- Taking ownership of solution design, technical documentation, and governance
- Keeping an eye on innovation and emerging tech to improve systems and services
Tech stack and experience we're looking for:
- Strong C# / .NET (ideally .NET 8)
- Azure cloud and microservices know-how
- Proven experience with API development and integration
- SQL Server (including T-SQL, SSIS, etc.)
- Solid understanding of architecture and system design principles
- Comfortable with the full software development lifecycle
- Clear communicator and confident working with technical and non-technical colleagues
Nice to have:
- Front-end knowledge (React ideally)
- Exposure to integration platforms (e.g. Mulesoft or similar)
- Background in utilities, manufacturing, or regulated industries
