About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Bradford. This Part-time position is available immediately and offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students, providing tailored support to help them succeed both academically and socially.
The college believes every student has the right to enjoy college and to fulfil their potential. The SEND team is here for any student who needs specialist support. Putting measures in place to support SEND students, the team ensures every student can have a positive experience in a college.
Position Details
- Location: Bradford
- Contract: Part-time role
- Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and understanding lesson content
- Assist students with developing literacy, numeracy, and social skills
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual learning plans (ILPs)
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage students to develop independence and self-confidence
- Support students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, using de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Provide additional support during exams and assessments
- Help students understand and follow school rules and expectations
- Use a range of teaching and support strategies to meet individual learning styles
- Support students with physical disabilities or health conditions where necessary
- Help to develop and maintain a positive and respectful relationship with students
