Role Overview:
This is a unique opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join a dynamic team in a hybrid role blending technical expertise with sales support.
The position involves UK-wide travel to client sites, providing technical solutions, driving sustainability initiatives, and strengthening customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
- Understand client needs and provide tailored technical solutions.
- Conduct site visits to troubleshoot, assess material performance, and recommend improvements.
- Support trials of new materials, ensuring they meet specific requirements and gain approval.
Sales Support:
- Partner with the sales team to identify and meet customer requirements.
- Manage trial processes and supplier coordination for new business lines.
- Promote sustainable materials and practices to align with client goals.
- Serve as a bridge between engineering, production, and sales to ensure smooth project delivery.
Travel:
- Regular UK-wide travel for consultations, technical support, and project management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in a technical role within the packaging / packaging consumables industry, ideally as an engineer on packaging machinery or a technical specialist in packaging materials.
- Strong knowledge of flexible packaging materials, processes, and machinery.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven sales support experience with a customer-focused approach.
- Formal qualification in engineering a huge plus but not essential.
- Self-motivated and well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and presentations.
