Job Purpose
  • Support a varied client portfolio, working closely with Senior Accountants to ensure expectations and deadlines are met
  • Preparation of draft annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparation of draft tax computations for corporate clients
  • Review accounting working papers to ensure all documents have been filed in an effective and timely manner
  • Oversee analytical reviews of the balance sheet to provide helpful notes
  • Review the work undertaken by junior staff, providing helpful feedback
  • Preparation of written communication to send to clients
  • Review the schedules prepared for VAT returns to minimise liabilities and ensure clear communication throughout
  • Liaise with clients, building strong rapport and proactively handling queries
  • Champion your own professional development, enthusiastically undertaking training opportunities

Job Requirements
  • ACCA or ACA qualified, part-qualified or studying
  • At least 12 months’ experience within UK practice
  • Audit experience is beneficial, but not essential
  • Solid technical knowledge of accounting standards
  • Good working knowledge of relevant software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • An enthusiastic team player who can also work autonomously
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your own deadlines and workflow
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
