Administration Officer – The Role:

- To support the Election Manager in providing a comprehensive electoral service

- Assisting with the organisation of elections and referenda held in the district in accordance with legislative and local requirements

Administration Officer – Key Responsibilities:

- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Elections Team, including word processing, scanning, printing, and routine correspondence

- Order goods and services, process payments, and match invoices to POs and cost claims

- Assist with diary and inbox management, document review, and drafting of standard forms and templates

- Publish required notices according to statutory requirements

- Organise Election Project meetings, prepare agendas, circulate documents, take minutes, and maintain action logs

- Manage assigned tasks, conduct research, and report to the Elections Manager as needed

- Apply and promote the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy in all employment and service areas

- Any other duties as required to support the business, including maintaining businesscontinuity and during civil emergencies

Administration Officer – You:

- Experience of working in a Law based office environment

- An understanding of Electoral Registration and Electoral Processes

- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

- Ability to work outside Normal Office Hours (during the Election delivery period)

- Flexible and ability to work in a changing environment

- Methodical and good organisational skills

- Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Power point)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal (written & verbal) skills
