Workshop Operative

Workshop Operative required for a manufacturer and supplier of metal products based in Braintree. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have previous industry experience in a similar role.

• Drilling and countersinking
• Creating drill jigs
• Shot blasting
• Grinding (fettling) using angle grinders
• Plasma cutting
• Material cutting and straightening
• Applying resins to metal
• Using hand tools such as files
• Reading technical drawings and quality assurance documents
• Completing QA documentation and conducting final inspections
• Packing materials for dispatch

• Ideally, GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (Grade C or above)
• Experience in fettling, foundry, or engineering-related roles preferred
• Abrasive wheels training is an advantage
• Candidates without formal qualifications but with relevant industry experience will also be considered

Paid 4-weekly - 11.52 - 12.22 /hr, dependant on qualifications and experience, with review in 26 weeks and next formal review in 12 months. You could also receive a Production output related bonus (not guaranteed).

Total Remuneration: 23,362.56 - 24,782.16 per annum (The starting wage is also in the process of being reviewed)

• Weekday and Saturday overtime - x1.5 rate
• Weekend Sunday overtime - x2 rate

Note: Overtime rate is only paid after 40 standard hours are completed per week.

• 6.00am - 4.00pm
• 30-minute break 11:00am - 11:30am (paid)
