Welfare and Operations Manager (Day & Night)
Location: Braintree
Contract Type: Initially a 6-month FTC
Hours of Work: Flexible work pattern, including at least two weekend visits/month. Work 25 shifts per month (12-hour shifts).
Salary: 50,000 - 60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Are you an experienced Welfare and Operations Manager looking to join a dynamic team within a well-established company?
We are recruiting on behalf of a company offering accommodation for vulnerable people, seeking two skilled and motivated Welfare and Operations Managers for our client. This role will have you at the forefront of their operations, ensuring the wellbeing of Service Users (SUs) and maintaining the infrastructure of their site. You will be the primary point of contact for staff and sub-contractors, managing them to meet both requirements in a timely and commercially conscious manner.
The Role:
As a Welfare and Operations Manager you will:
- Oversee daily operations and liaise with stakeholders,
- Ensure compliance with mandatory and contractual HSE requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all site expenditures and activities.
- Conduct daily walkaround inspections to supervise facilities and occupants.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and maintain up-to-date site SOPs, including Business Continuity and Emergency Evacuation Plans.
- Manage anti-social behaviour and ensure the safety and timely relocation of residents.
- Oversee property inspections and repairs, ensuring excellent standards.
- Supervise day-to-day and night operations of staff and subcontractors.
The Person:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in managing staff and subcontractors.
- A previous background as a prison officer or similar environment is highly desirable.
- A keen eye for detail and a professional curiosity to ensure best practices.
- Quick decision-making abilities, especially in safety-critical situations.
- Strong prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
- Experience with Safeguarding and managing vulnerable residents.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to maintain health and safety standards and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
