About the role:
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the classroom, developing students’ understanding of critical global issues, financial literacy, and economic principles in an engaging, real-world context.
Responsibilities of the Business/Economics Teacher:
- Plan, execute, and evaluate captivating Business and Economics lessons that push students to excel.
- Encourage students to dive into and broaden their understanding of Business and Economics concepts.
- Teach Business and Economics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, delivering engaging and relevant lessons that inspire students’ interest in the field.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that balances theoretical knowledge with practical applications, preparing students for future academic and career pursuits.
- Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages discussion, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Equip students for exams, practical assessments, real-world business, and economic scenarios.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings to ensure a cohesive approach to the Business and Economics curriculum.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain updated on teaching strategies and current developments in economics and business education.
- Keep meticulous records of student achievements and progress.
Requirements of the Business/Economics Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, and a degree in Business or Economics or a related subject.
- Previous experience as a Business/Economics Teacher is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of business and economics principles, such as marketing, economics, and finance.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging, thought-provoking lesson plans and activities.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- An understanding of the UK education system and relevant curriculum standards.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
