School Staffing Solutions are looking forTeaching Assistantswho have theX-FACTOR(You don't need to sing!) but you do need to be up for challenge to work in a Special Needs school just to the south of Guildford.

This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about wanting to make a difference in the lives of children and young people aged 10-19. Many of these young children haveexperienced traumain many forms and because of this they have difficulty regulating their feelings and emotions. Some of the children may also have associated conditions and disabilities such as ADHD, Autistic Spectrum disorders and attachment disorders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting teachers in supporting teaching and learning in the classroom
  • Helping the pupils feel they are in a safe space and its ok make mistakes
  • Helping pupils learn how to express their feelings and emotions in a positive way
  • Supporting pupils to achieve their targets and breakdown any barriers to learning
  • To help ensure positive behaviour is maintained.
  • Proving support to them access the curriculum
  • Attending and contributing to regular planned staff meetings, training and in-service sessions.

About You:

  • An enthusiastic and patientindividual who wants to work with pupils who struggle to access mainstream education.
  • Be willing to turn up every day and be a 'calm and consistent'safe person for pupils to turn to if they need help
  • Help every child access education at a level appropriate to their needs.
  • Possess excellent communications skills and have level 4/grade C in English and Mathematics.
  • Specific training will be given to enable you to carry out elements of the role
