Location: Burton Upon Trent
Salary/Benefits: £38,000-£45,000 base salary, 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday, Company Pension, Private Healthcare

The Company

We are currently partnering with a leading global provider of critical power solutions, serving a wide range of customers from large commercial enterprises to the defence industry.

This organisation has been operating for over 40 years and are now worth £50million, offering services covering everything from design and manufacturing through to rental and maintenance.

Following the acquisition of the business in 2023, the rental operations division alone has seen almost 200% growth and are set to grow by a further £2million in 2025.

Due to internal changes, they are not looking to recruit a Senior IT Support Engineer.

 

The Role

The role of Senior IT Support Engineer will be to work in tandem with an IT Technician in providing day to day first line technical support across the business, in combination with leading IT projects for business improvement.

Day to day responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Following up on IT support requests across the business for desktop and hardware issues.  
  • Carrying out remote support, finding and resolving system issues
  • Ensuring the IT hardware in the business is functioning properly
  • Identifying any new hardware that needs to be brought into the business on a short- and medium-term basis.  Feeding back to senior management on requirements to keep the system fit and robust as the business grows
  • Managing the IT Licensing agreements for software across the business
  • Following annual cyber security audits to ensure any corrective measures and actions are in place to optimise cyber security in place
  • Creating dashboard (Power BI) for business performance
  • Leading IT Projects for business improvement
  • Testing IT systems in the business for issues and errors and modifying as required

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Senior IT Support Engineer role you will need:

  • A relevant qualification within IT/Computer Science
  • Previous experience working within a leading IT role, ideally with IT improvement project involvement
  • Exposure to cyber security
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Windows server configuration experience
  • Experience working within SQL Database
