We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join the finance team.Working within a local organisation in Angus. Main Duties:- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and management accounts- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes- Reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents- Process invoices, manage accounts payable/receivable, and handle payroll tasks- Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports and audits- Monitor and analyse financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations- Provide support in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any financial discrepanciesPerson Requirements:- Experience in a similar accounting role is beneficial- Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field are beneficial (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel- Good understanding of financial regulations and public sector financial management- Excellent organisational and time-management skills- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamBenefits:- Competitive salary - Permanent position offering stability within the public sector- Opportunity to enhance your accounting skills in a supportive and dynamic environment- Central Aberdeen location with access to a range of public sector benefitsIf you are a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to further your career, This role offers a chance to make a meaningful contribution to our public sector organisation while advancing your professional development.Please forward a CV to
