Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Location: Brecon
Pay Rate: 14.50 - 16.00 per hour
Shifts: Flexible shift patterns available - mornings, afternoons, long days, and nights, tailored to your preference.

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team, providing specialist care to children with complex needs in Brecon and across South Wales

About the Role: As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to young people with diverse needs, including non-verbal communication, physical disabilities, autism etc.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored support to service users with learning disabilities and complex needs.

  • Assisting with personal care, including changing pads and ensuring dignity and respect at all times.

  • Communicating effectively with children who have sensory impairments.

  • Implementing behavioural and stimulation management techniques.

  • Applying de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours.

  • Promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for each child.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with non-verbal service users.

  • Experience in behavioural and stimulation management.

  • Knowledge and application of de-escalation techniques tailored for service users with learning disabilities.

  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.

  • Drivers would be preferred
